Acoustic Poetry Against Volcanic Horizons
Set against one of the world's most dramatic maritime backdrops, Santorini Jazz Nights brings world-class jazz musicians, acoustic innovators, and Mediterranean folk ensembles together across the island of Thira (Santorini).
Festival Highlights & Atmosphere
- Open-Air Amphitheatre Stages: Performances are staged in the intimate open-air stone amphitheatre of Kamari, sheltered by the steep cliffs of Mesa Vouno, as well as panoramic caldera terraces in Fira and Oia.
- Cross-Cultural Jazz Fusion: The program pairs international horn and piano masters with traditional Greek instrumentalists playing the Aegean laouto, lyra, and kanonaki.
- Caldera Sunset Prelude Sessions: Free sunset acoustic showcases take place across whitewashed cliffside plazas before ticketed evening headline sets.
Concert tickets frequently include pairings with indigenous volcanic wines. Savor mineral-rich, bone-dry Assyrtiko and naturally sweet sun-dried Vinsanto cultivated in traditional ground-hugging basket vines (kouloura).
Visitor Guidance & Island Transit
Ferries from Piraeus (Athens), Heraklion (Crete), and Mykonos arrive at Athinios Port. Santorini also benefits from international seasonal flights into Thira Airport (JTR). Local KTEL municipal buses run late services connecting Kamari Beach to Fira after late-night festival performances.
